Default Well my Pilot Sport 2's are toast after 4k miles......

It appears my suspension is royally messed up and has +1 or +2 degrees of camber causing the outside to wear faster. I have it going in tuesday but because of this I now have to shell out $1400 for another set of tires before my inspection in a little over a month. Should Audi be paying for the alignment and the Tires? I know they are gonna try and make me pay for everything. Its not like im running some weird setup. Thanks guys.

Well if I remember correctly didnt you go to the track I am not sure If that covered. And I doubt audi will cover aftermakret tires. But then you'll never know untill you ask.

My Contis are almost bald at 12,000 Miles. But then again drive liek a 21 year old would

Default man that is a bummer... it will probably be difficult as i'm sure both

of those are excluded in what they 'say' they cover. is there an indication that the +camber has been there from the start? trying to think of how that could occur on its own...

Default Well audi did the alignment after my accident which is where we think the + camber is coming from...

if they did that, and its the result of my tires wearing out so fast then they will replace them. My tires were questionable going into the event. My mechanic tried to get my in for an alignment before I went but no dice. Did the track event make things worse, probably but not to the point that it really should matter. I wasnt the one pushing my car to the limit that day *cough* wes *cough*

Default Audi probably won't cover the tires... had issues with a bent axle earlier

and irregular tire wear on the front passenger corner. Went through 3 sets in 30K mi on that side of the car, bad feathering, rotated so killed both tires. Best Audi would do was have me pay to have the axle replaced and then submit for reimbursement.

I was a little peeved since I'd gone to the trouble to videotape it and all with a mic gauge showing the 3/16" deflection and all, service guys were laughing a bit I'm sure. In the end they paid for the axle part and installation. No consideration on tires at all, and all I requested was reinbursement for a pair(not a set or 6 as some would have). My dealer has worked with me with aftermarket suspensions though, went to another dealer for a second opinion and the tech there wouldn't touch my car with anything that included the word warranty.

Just swapped tires/wheels and after 13K mi on a new set of SP9000s they look almost brand new. Best of luck on yours...

Default Just got off the phone with my body shop....

The alignment on my car was done by audi to audi specs. So it looks like audi is gonna eat this one if they can determine that camber was added during that alignment for some reason.

Default I have an audi tech and a local shop who looked at the car and both mentioned...

the tires were wearing weird. I had scheduled to have it looked at before I left but the earliest they had was this coming tuesday. Not my fault. The track just exagerated the wear onto the corners instead of the part thats designed to wear. Audi will be footing the bill, they cuased the defect and ruined the tires not the track.
