Need opinions on wheel/tire dilemma
Ok, here's the sitch: I have 2 sets of 17" wheels/tires. I want one to be my winters, and I want to sell the other. I don't have a preference style-wize, and I have a set of 18" summers in addition to all of this. Here is the inventory:
17" ATI S5 w/ Nokian WR's (5 spoke AVUS like)
17" OEM A4 Sport w/ 4 Season OEM Conti's (6-spoke AVUS like w/out dimples)
18" OEM Ultrasport w/ Eagles (keeping)
Here is my dilemma:
1) My car is a lease. I'm concerned that if I turn it in with non-factory rims on it, they may try to make me pay.
2) I have more faith in the OEM rims to stand up to nasty potholes and to have their finish withstand the elements - and they have a 4-year factory warranty.
3) But it would cost like $100 to have the nearly new Nokian's switched to the OEM rims & vice versa
4) And I don't really know which rims are more sell-able - AFAIK, the 6-spoke A4 sport rims aren't particularly sought after; I wouldn't expect them to fetch a premium.
5) And last but not least, worst case scenario is I could return the car with the OEM Ultrasport wheels on it - but they are *extremely* sellable - in 3 years if I'm going to have a leftover set of rims, I'd prefer it be these.
What do you all think? Who would pay $100+ to swap the tires to the opposite rims to get out of this dilemma? Who isn't the least bit worried about returning a lease w/ aftermarket rims on it?
Who thinks the OEM rims would fetch a much higher price?
Oh, and one more question... Who would not bother mounting the 4-seasons on the ATI's, and would just sell them as two seperate items? That would at least save a few bucks...
