Me vs. CL65
I came across a new (obviously) Mercedes CL65 last night on my way home from dinner and pulled up alongside of it, mainly just to check the car out and see what kind of driver pilots one of those things around the streets of San Fran.
We were both traveling about 20mph and as I pulled even I rapped the motor up to 7K, downshifted into first gear (after waiting for the revs to drop a bit), and just barely started to take off when suddenly, the Merc just disappeared. Did he accelerate so quickly that I lost sight of him? Was he asleep at the throttle? Did he turn off? No, <b>he nailed the brakes</b>...the sound of my engine scared the sh*t out of him! So before the race even began, he was just two specs of blue light in my rearview mirror.
The guy eventually summoned up the courage the catch back up and pass me at a blazing 25mph, staring at me like I had walked into a fancy restaurant with ripped jeans and a T-shirt. Which I think in essence, I had.
So this, ladies and gentlemen, is the first (and probably last) recorded kill of a CL65. I had one passenger. Thank you.

Temperature has a LOT to do with that. Our cars love 40 degree weather.
It seems my last audi really loved the 40-60 temperature range as well (turbo of course) but I get the same feeling from these engines as well.
