Default Second Try: Anybody use the Escort GT-2 performance timer?

What settings did you use for the pitch forward and back and side to side? Any other settings that should be adjusted?

Default gtimer settings

I think the factor defaults (2 and 3) are fine for our cars. I changed the Speed and 1/4 Mile "Rollout" to 0 (zero) from 12". If you don't change Rollout, you'll get very optimistic launch times (0-60, 1/4 mile). AW's CSBM5 help me with the rollout a few months back.

Default Thanks frank. According to the manual drag strips use rollout, is this true?

If so, it would be more accurate to have some no?

Default At a strip...

there's a light beam about 2" off the ground. When you line up, your tire breaks the beam. If you stop with the beam at the front of your tire the timer will not start until the tire leaves the beam...that's about 12" from the front of your tire to the back (at 2" off the ground). This will give you better elapsed time (but won't necessarily get you to the finish line first).

The difference between 0 and 12" is about .4 seconds. On a good run I'll see a 5.2*. With the rollout set to 12" I can break 5 seconds (I've seen 4.8*) which sounds great but it's unrealistic. It's amazing how much time it takes to move the first 12".
