Default What would you do? advice please

I leased an '05 S4 last week. Dealer calls me today, and they said they screwed up the lease by including gas guzzler tax in calculating the residual, which audi does not alow.

They want me to come in and sign a new lease. My payment will go up $15 bucks a month. I have a signed lease already, I'm pretty sure they don't have a leg to stand on. I'm worried that if I don't go in they'll be a pain to deal with in the future. Any advice is appreciated.

Default Their problem...if you got an amazing price for the car then maybe

you could accomodate them by allowing them to roll the extra $800 or so into you lease term (as opposed to residualizing it); otherwise, if they sold you the car and made a good profit, I would say suck it up. Imagine how much of a problem they would have given you if there was an $800 mistake in their favor and you tried to get them to readjust the numbers!!

What did you pay?

Default Agree to do it, but only if they make concessions.

At the very least, tell them to lower your payments via money factor or a dealer-provided "down payment".

what money factor did you get? It's a good time to make them rewrtite the deal in your favor.

Default 2nd to all previous statements...

Like Tx said, imagine what their response would be if the mistake was in their favor. Tell them your 'payments CANNOT go up. Under no circumstances.' Tell them to lower to price of the car by the amount necessary to offset the $15 payment increase.

Default Tell them that they can re-do it, but payments will have to stay the same with no added money down.

A deal is a deal.

Default Tell them you changed your mind, and you don't want the car anymore.

Tell them you're giving the car back, and they can tear the lease up.

After the prolonged silence...ask them why on earth you would come back to sign a lease for $15 more per month than the original lease you signed.

Sounds to me like someone at the dealership didn't think about how this would come across to the customer *before* he picked up the phone. And if he did, he would have spoken with AFS, and his Sales Mgr first to see if there was a good way to deal with this situation. Hopefully he'll realize this after you ask the questions above, and ask if he can get back to you after doing some homework.

If they want to maintain a good client relationship, they'll find a way to sort this out with minimal impact to you.

Default If you have another dealer near, explain your situation to them.. -m

Tell them that you want to keep the same monthly number and even ask for a lower monthly payment and close the deal with the 2nd dealer. (in fact ask them if they can get the same car from the other dealership)

Go to the 1st dealer and just tell them that now you don't want the car anymore with them.

The other solution could be as other suggested, shave off some more $$ of the negotiated price to motivate you to keep the car and forget the issue.

The ball is in your court, ask whatever you want because is your right to get whatever.. hehehe.. Is not your fault thet they screw it.
