Default Picked it up last night and guess what the sales guy said!!!

Love the car! One intersting bit of info really pleased me (if it's indeed true).

Sales guy said that if you hold down the stability control button for a few seconds (instead of just tapping and releasing) when turning it off (so that the light comes on) it will disable ALL of the intelligent stability systems!!!

I had read posts on here before talking about pulling fuses, etc. If this works I think it will leave the steering system intact.

Default Oh and the reason I ask is becuase he fed you some Bull ****!!!!!

By holding the esp button down you enter failsafe code in the ECU which says "If Signal + > time then enable ESP Systems & Lock" untill you power cycle the car ESP will be locked on and you are unable to turn it off until you have power cycled the car. So no it doesnt work, in fact it does the exact oposite of what he said. Might want to call him and tell him he is wrong.

I found out this weekend when ESP is off, it's off. ABS still comes in, but ESP is off.

Default Im pretty sure parts of every program is still active....

but for the most part almost all of ESP and EDL is disabled. On the other hand ABS doesnt seem to disable any part of itself.

Default When ESP is off, it sits and watches. Brakes ON and it senses a need for ESP. It's back on.

It's never really off.

Default I sensed that EDL was working...

When I went two wheels off. Both left side wheels were in the dirt and I accelerated back onto the track. I got no spin from the left wheels but I could tell that I was getting some braking action. ESP was off.

It was a very confidence inspiring moment.

Default Like I said....

I think part is still working. I think when you turn off the ESP button you do turn off some of the more agressive programming and go to an "0hhh ****" type of program that only acts when things are really wrong.
