Gas Guzzler tax on tips now

Today I received a call from my local Audi dealer informing me that all S4 tips ordered after December 17th are subject to a $1,300 GG tax. Audi said new pricing sheets would be available soon.

Thankfully, I placed my B7 order on Monday.

And also I dont think you will avoid the GG tax. I bet its all of them sold after the 17th.

Gas guzzler tax is just a new refuge for the luxury tax. SUVs were /are exempt from ...

both. I Know why. Also it spurred the develop-
ment of luxury SUV's... Navigator, MX5, Acura,
Porsche, etc.

Why? Did EPA lower mileage rating on the S4, or did they just raise the tax limit?

Sounds like you are getting the shaft. Unless it's EPA rated below 18/24 or the law changed...

you shouldn't be hit with Gas Guzzler. Does the window sticker have the mpg range?

well his car isnt made yet so...

even though he has placed the order, the car hasnt been built or sold yet. I was talking about his car, and he confirmed he has to pay it.

makes no sense

Trucks and SUVs are clearly the worst offenders, but they are exempt from the GG tax. Yet cars getting over 20mpg are getting smacked by it. I own two cars. One is a 2004 S4 w/tip. It gets an overall average of 21mpg. My other ride is a 2002 Lexus LX470. It gets about 10mpg. It is stupid to slap GG tax on the S4 but not the LX470. I know first hand how much more gas guzzling the LX470 does.
