Default DP's and long term effects...

Can DP's and Full back exhausts have ill effects in the long term?

Meaning if I go with DP's on top of my intake and Res Milltek, in 2-3 years, is that putting excessive wear/tear on the motor ?

Or is it just more air going through with NO negative effects on the wear of the motor ?

Sorry if this is a stupid question, but....

thanks,
kj

Default Zero negative effect.

The air pump (engine) is simply allowed to operate more efficiently rather than operating with an artificial restriction.

Default You'll be fine...

the extra flow is actually taken less of a load on the engine to push that exhaust out. So the engine works less. So your engine lasts longer, etc, etc. ;-)

Default If there is an appreciable power increase, there will be more wear on the drivetrain.

You will have more clutch wear, transmission wear etc,...in theory. But I wouldn't imagine that it would be a difference that would make a difference, especially over the next three years.

Default News to me.. then why do most Audi technicians say it voids warranty?

Is it the install process?

Default do most tech say that?

The local Audi techs told me that it would not void the warranty. They said it would be no problem to do DP, catback, intake, and chip. I guess it must from one dealership to another.

Default since the downpipes lead directly to the engine, so if your engine goes blah

they can say, see its your fault, the downpipes! its' the god damn downpipes! (even though it isn't)
