First Question: 6MT or Tip?
I have Tip Now because I am in Los Angeles with a one hour commute each way. On The other hand I've always wanted to go back to Manual. + is that the 1750 GG tax comes off if I get the tip. I don't want to make a mistake here. I have drivin both the tip is very responsive. I'm on the fence.

Ok lease pmnts on an 05 ....52,446.00 maybe 5k down. 48mo.??
premium, Bose, sunshade, heated seats, nav, XM, no ALCAN. dolphin. sedan

Any other Advise Before I get My *** into one of these Automobeeeeeeels?

Default 1 hour a day? Tip dood, you'll regret it unless you get a diff job.

I have 6mt and it bugs in traffic every freakin day, but I am getting a transfer really close to my house, so I'm in the clear.

Default go with the MT6

I live in Manhattan and yes sometimes the manual is a drag, that said, it's very appealing with a light clutch and short, positve throws. I previously had a B6S4 and this shifter is SO much nicer. Either way can't go wrong...just my .02.

6 MT. Just put in first or second, and it's a snap to just putz along, even at 2-3 MPH and 800 RPM.

Default Depends on your driving. If my driving was in a beautiful mountaneous road with no cops/traffic

then MT is great but in heavy traffic there is no joy in shifting. Plus the paddles on the Tip are fun when you feel like shifting. Anyway my two cents.

This is a great engine and flexible enough to perform well with either tranny.

Well stated, take a test drive in the two, that's the best way to find out.

Default AudiTipIssues.com

I have a tip and like it overall. However, Audi has been detuning them via software. If enough people complain to AoA, then the tip software may get updated. Otherwise, the manual is the only way to rev the engine to peak power.

http://auditipissues.com/</a

Default test drive

I agree that you should test drive both. However, the tip cars can change dramatically through software patches. My tip car shifted at 7k RPM when it was new. After the 5k mile maintainance, it shifted at 6300 RPM. If you get a tip car, see if you can get the dealer to promise in writing that they will honor a buyback at their cost if the shiftpoints change.

Default Posted yesterday that there is now a GG tax on the tip!

Perhaps not on in stock units?
