My fun encounter this evening (kinda long)
At this time, I'm in a pack of cars that's going slower tha I am so I signal, change lanes, and then get cut off by the car (no signal) I'm trying to pass by less than a car length. Here's where I go wrong, I flick the brights at him (notice I say flick, not lay on). Next thing I know all his marker lights start a-flashing and he goes to the shoulder. I get that sinking feeling in the pit of my stomach as I pull over behind him.
He get's out of his car, hits me in the eyes with his flashlight, I roll down the window and get a confronational "You gotta problem?" from him. First thing I notice is that he's not State Police but Secretary of State Police (usually pull over overweight trucks).
Me: "You got in the lane in front of me a little bit close back there"
Him: "How fast were you going"
M: "Around 60 (not too big an untruth)
H: "You were going a lot faster than that, I saw you coming up behind me. License please"
M: (Handing over license and insurance) "I wasn't going a lot faster because I looked at my speedometer when that white Monte Carlo blew by me. I would've slowed down too if you'd signaled before you changed lanes"
He then searches around the car
H: "You been drinking?"
M: "Not at all, never when I drive"
H: "You better slow down"
He then stomps away.
The whole time I was very direct and non-confrontational and all I got was attitude. I guess Xenon+ are kinda bright, even w/ just a flick!
