Default Can I put my new spare on without any ill effects?

I have ~5K on the original four...accidently I hit a curb and would like to put the spare on. Foresee any problems? Or should I think about new rims soon Anyhow, want to know what is the 'practical' thing to do...

What is damaged? The tire, the rim or both? Is it cosmetic damage only, or is there a safety issue?

Default I would take this as a blessing in disguise....

if there is no structural damage to the rim then get a new set of tires that will most likely be much better then the Contis

As long as the tire /wheel diameter is within 4/32". Otherwise you can damage the quattro system!

What's the spare for then, if you cannot use it?

Default Just took a look in daylight...

A nice 4 inch rash along the edge of the rim. No structure damage to the tire. Purely cosmetic. If i want to keep the 'perfect' look, should i just swap tires with the spare rim to ensure no quattro issues?

New tires are planned for next year, but gift buying comes first right now ... I rather just burn out the contis (good riddens...)

I'm assuming you mean 4/32" within the other tires' diameters?
