Default yep... S mode will goto redline.. Tip mode shifting 1-2 at 6400rpm.

probably to protect the trans. S mode is computer controlled so it is probably 'safer' since it operates without human intervention and thus can be safely assumed to work properly hehe.

Are you sure about this? People who've dyno'd say it's capped at 6800.

Is it not true that the car begins to learn your driving patterns. I was told this at the dealership

Default yep.. i was on M10 in tip mode.

Hmmm... I'll recheck when I goto work. I could have swore I saw it shift at 6400rpm and thought it was to protect the trans (from the other posts I have read here).

Check redline. MT is 7200 or 7300. Not sure, but up there.

Default only learns part throttle patterns

At WOT, there is nothing to learn. So at WOT, it shifts at its defined point. Mine will shift at 6300 RPM in D, S, and tip modes regardless of how much I beat the car. Any dealership that think the WOT shiftpoint is affected by driving style does not know what they are talking about.
