OT--damage assessment?

My g/f was t-boned this morning and I've been running around with her taking care of all the details...

...one of which was extracting her '99 Q45 out of the city's impound yard where it was mistakenly towed to. Think San Fran makes money here? $375 a pop. The rusty brown building is full of cars too.

We need all the money we can get

So we can spend $150-200 million / year on < 5-8k homeless people.

So plan on also seeing increases in your: parking tickets, city fees, taxes, MUNI transit fares.

My real pet peeve is that they want to charge weight fees on registrations now, for "damage done by heavy vehicles to city streets". Have you SEEN sf streets lately? the streets are what's doing the damage. I should send them the $6k suspension bill for my A4 last year.

Yes I've seen the streets here. I work near the 3rd St. Light Rail Project.

I have actually filed two claims with the city to cover damage.

Another point: I just read an article about SF's $113M budget shortfall...

...and one city official was quoted as saying, "what we don't want to do is lay anybody off." LOL, no of <i>course</I> not, that might actually...<gasp>...balance the budget. Instead, we are going to be charged for driving on the streets we already pay for.
