How do I modify the Recaro's?
Yes, I'm one of those "fat Americans", I guess. At 6'1" and 280 lb, I certainly ain't small. The S4 I just purchased has enough room, but the Recaro seats are too tight on the bottom -- the wings pinch my outer legs something awful.
Any recommendations on someplace in the Boston area where I could get the seats modified? Or do I have to replace them? (I searched the archives and didn't find any info on this subject...)

Pick you up a set of these bad boys and you should be set

I suggest that you sell them to someone with an A4. Maybe you could swap, if you
find the A4 seats more to your liking? Also this will decrease the value of your car and make it less desireable to re sell
