Shopping for a new ride for the SO..................What does your SO drive?
Current ride is a 2001 Grand Cherokee. She is liking the b7 A4 Avant or possibly an allroad.
Anyone else have good luck with either of those?
2 kids under 3 means the ride needs to be roomy.

ALLROAD!!!
It's a great ride. The 2.7T combined with the Tip isn't such a great combo in a 4200-lb. vehicle, although from 25-75mph it still works out fine. Under 25, the short 1st plus the automatic and turbo lag is not so smooth. Over 75, the RPMs are a little high and you really only have 2 gears to pick from. If you can swing the V8, then by all means get it.
