12,300 Miles and no clutch, thought we had a strong clutch?

We don't.
It's a very tender clutch, one that doesn't seem up to the task of withstanding the stress that comes from moving a 3900 lb car with all-wheel drive. The stress on the clutch is outrageous since it must take the full brunt of the force since there can be no loss through tire spin. Aftermarket clutches are pretty expensive. Stage I is $819.

Well, I don't launch mine in a way that would give me wheelspin...
I used to, but the clutch would feel like goo afterwards and it would burn. Yes it would spin the tires. But now I don't see more than about 2k rpm and it just gives me a chirp as I leave.

If you get wheel spin you probably will have a bad burnt clutch smell....
chris, have you driven a B6 yet btw? The clutch and the DBW make launches horrible. You almost cant launch hard cause your assured you will either fubar the clutch or the car with lurch and bog due to the weight. Go drive one and do a 3kish launch and let the car pull itself off the line, don't try to push it, its actually faster that way and very consistent. This car is so touchy its incredible.
