Default New to leasing. have 05 S4'.

hit a deer and the side of a hill trying to avoid it.

How does this change or affect my lease? Is there a problem or penalty as long as I get it fixed to new condition? Anything that was damaged should be covered and fixed to new condition by insurance correct?

Thanks

I believe the insurance should cover everything besides the deductible and as for the lease, as long as the car is fixed to your/dealer liking, then it should not be a problem

Default most lease companys dont even look the car over that much

fix, when you return the lease, unless they ask you, no point in telling them about the accident. They look more at tires, scratches, chips, glass damage, interior damage, etc

Thanks for the help. I am using the body shop my dealer recomends. I haven't mentioned my name or the accident just asked for a reffereal. Is this a bad or good move? It is Anderson-Behel out of Santa Clara CA in the Bay Area.

Thanks,

Matt

The leasing company does not give a $hit weather the car even runs..as long as you pay.

Default You are wrong about that. Audi Financial services are not so tough, BUT

I have had some bad experiences at lease turn in with some banks. What had happened a few years ago, was the banks were setting the residuals too high. As a result, they were losing money big time, when the cars were sold at auction. In response to that, The banks were actually trying to nickle and dime the leasees for any minor issue. What they were doing was, in effect, trying to get the leasee to pay for NORMAL wear and tear, as if it were excessive wear and tear. I have found in my past 15 years of leasing, that you are generally better off(especially with regard to lease turn in) leasing with the factory financial connection.

Default When I turned in my wifes Pathfinder to Chase....

It had numerous dents. So, after hearing some turn in horror stories, I had everyone fixed, and added new tires as the old ones were shot. We handed car back to nissan dealership. When we got the final invoice, they listed numerous dents, and a Navigation system not working. (which was untrue..the car was like brand new).
They billed us 1500, which was their normal repair allowance, so we did not have to pay anything. But, when I handed over the car, you could not tell it from a new vehicle. What a scam! I lease returned two Audi's with no problems.

Not true! When you turn in a leased vehicle (at least in PA) you sign a paper that states the what body and/or repair work was preformed on the car. If that work is not to specefic standards determined by the dealer, you are on the hook. They are usually concerned with frame damage because that greatly effects the value of the car if it goes to auction.
