I finally took a good look at the new A4 and new A6....
When I went in for my 5K mile service, I sat in each (have yet to test drive either one). I am glad I got the B6. I know it has been said here many times, but the B6 definately looks better. The lines and the hood and front on the new B7 just do not do anything for the car. The interior is about the same. Problem is.... I would love to get into the RS4 when available based on the expected performance, but not sure I can enjoy the look of the car. That being said... I think the new A6 looks much better. The interior of the A6 is amazing IMO. Very nice, luxorious layout. Much better than the new 5 series and also better than the E class. I have not been a fan of bigger cars due to the fact that they are less fun to drive, but when the time calls for something a little bigger then I will have no problem choosing the 4.2 A6.
PS. They did not reset my service indicator which is annoying. I hate to go back just for that. Otherwise, the S4 has been flawless.

Prefer my G35 renter to B7
I just traded my Pontiac annonymobile NEterprise renter for the new Infiniti G35 renter while the S4 is being repaired. I like the G35--it's got some ***** for an automatice (tiptronic) V6 and handles well.
Anway, it's no S4 but I don't hate driving it and I prefer the styling to the B7 body. I like it on the new C7 A6, but it's just not for the shorter body of the B7.

Minimum 4.2 required.
I've had the 2000 A6 2.7T (a wheezing pig)and 2003 A6 4.2 (still a pig of a car but better powered)and the 4.2 is the MINIMUM you need to push a car of this size.
What is the weight diff to the new A6? I can't imagine it's much , if any less?
Go V8 if you can afford it.
