strat. ShortShifter Problems

I installed the shifter about a week+ back, and I made sure all bolts were torqued. everything was fine and dandy until about 2 days back when reverse became difficult to engage. then yesterday the ring clip for the spring slipped out and every time i place it back in place it lasts for about 5 pushes to get it into reverse and slips out. Any one have any helpful advice, complaints, any input at all about the shifter.

Sounds like you damaged the circlip during the install...

and it needs to be replaced. I believe they include 2 replacement circlips with the shifter. Also did you use loctite on the lower bolt? If not then thats you problem. The lower bolt that connects the shifter to the shift elbow is loose and allowing there to be play in it which makes reverse hard. You need to pull the shifter out and fix both of these things and then you should be fine.
