I am going to look into ordering a unit to see if it works....
It says its the same unit for europe as it is for the united states. If I have to pay for subscription I don't care I still think its worth it.

TMC is not part of the current US software
The hardware is there, dual tuner for example and TMC data logging in Engineering Mode, but the there is no interface in the US software to enable TMC.
Besides that, since the US TMC is a subscription based service like TMC in the UK, the Euro TMC (which doesn't work in the UK) will like not work out of the box even when using a Euro RNS-E.
It's all up to Audi to provide the right software to enable this feature.
