Just pimp slapped a GTO...or did I?

We were on the 210 west and I was going 70-75 and this GTO cuts in front of me and starts flooring it. Deciding to take his challenge, I put it in 4th and am on his ***. In front of him is a car so he swithches to the left lane to pass, I switch to the right lane and pass. So at this point we are neck and neck. Next, I put it in 5th and get back into my original lane and take off (125-130 although it didn't seem that fast) and never see him again. The question i have is how hard was he pushing it. I know he let off at the end, but durring the time we were going at it, shouldn't he have beat me or are those cars over rated?

Don't bother to flame this post if you intend to cuz I don't give a fck. The fwy wasn't packed and nobody was in my car.

ps: the brakes on these cars are great. I'm impressed. The car felt very solid when i slammed on the brakes to go back down to 70mph. Later on an es300 wanted to go at it, don't know what he was thinking?

Nice run, those cars are fast but they suck. And they're fugly to boot.

I ran with one, back when I was stock, from a stop light to about 80, and it just was barely pulling on me when we slowed down. They're a little over rated I think.

i test drove the 6.0L wednesday evening....

sounds cool and has gobs of torque. very easy to break the rear loose. climbing to 100mph was wasy. they are very ugly...don't like the looks at all. it's a big car. after i got back into my S4 I was glad to be there. we pull almost the same, but they certainly have much more low-end torque than we do. nonetheless, the quality is ****. the brakes sucked even though they looked huge. and the feel was vague. it's a nice car for $35k, but i wouldn't waste my time. i think our cars not only have more class, but also look sportier. i wouldn't buy one.

GM rebadged Holden (HSV) also labeled as the Opel/Vauxhall Minaro in Europe....

theyre overrated. I had one by about 2 cars from 5 to 110 and THEN he started to catch up...

i'm a stage 2 B5 tho.

The 350hp version is a fair run. 100lbs lighter but not geared as high (numerical) as us...

They're good for 13.6 in the quarter. But the 400hp version should take us....

My friend has one! He ran an 11.4 1/4 mile..........

with only 2 grand invested into his 2005 6.0L. He only paid $31k for it new(its an auto). He lives by it.... but then again he drag races constantly.
I was actually looking into one before i bought my S4. During the test drive I had let up the clutch at the dealership to pull it out of the parking lot without any throttle and the rear end started slipping around on an inch of snow. It was also to rumbly of a car... not refined enough for me. I still like them though.. and for the money i think its worth it!
