Default No doubt in my mind which car is the better handling, braking and satisfying one to drive...

Come on Porsche, never mind the 911 and give this car the power it deserves (350-400 HP) and watch it rule the road.

How about a Cayman RS with the 996 GT3 380hp engine? I'd rock that!!!

Im sure someone is already working on it. That to me would most likely be the best car on the road.

Default I'm sure I read something about some tuner dropping a 3.6 or 3.8 in a Cayman - but I didn't

recall if it was the GT3 block or not. I've been afraid to pull the trigger on a non-GT3 996 for the reported block issues.

Default Rumor has it. Porsche is going to make a club sport version of the Cayman.

Not sure on HP but it is said to be a super light weight version with a boost in power numbers(shrugs). Who knows for sure though?

Default One of my fellow S2000 owners worked for Porsche's race team for 15 years. He told me

yesterday that they still haven't figured it out. It's better than it was - but can still pop up. Something about the casting of that block just leads to inconsistency.

He doesn't even think the 997 (except the TT or the GT3) is going to be 100% safe.

Default Should be a lot of tuners and racers dropping 3.8L engines into these.I know of 5 places already

experimenting with it. It won't take much to even drop a GT3 cup engine in the Cayman. Or much cash to do it either. I have seen GT3 engines for as much as $10k(some less some more).

The Cayman has a chance to be pure sex with all the possible things that can be done to it.
