How much KW on a chipped Audi?
Seriously, I have a feeling 140-150kw is the ball park for a stage 1 chip. But as I have a 2.8 and not 1.8T I haven't paid much attention.
Although im running around 19psi when it spikes, does that make any difference to what kilowatt i might have?
Im not that clued up on these things.
cheers!
I would say that its generally accepted that:
Stage 1 (chip only) = 187hp(139kw)
Stage 1+ (Chip plus rear exhaust) = 195hp(145kw)
Stage II (Chip + DP + Full Exhaust) = 210hp(156kw)
Note:
- Stage 1 and II chips are different.
- These are flywheel figures
- These are for NonDBW cars. The DBW cars with their hybrid turbo can produce a little bit more, approx 5 hp)

we normally say 149KW, as some cars perform slightly differently, age, wear etc..
Exhausts, irrespective of what you get, we have found very little gain if no gain.
We dont believe in just selling extra stuff on a car unless its going to make a difference.
Just remember the stock turbos are very small on audi's and most stock exhaust flow well for these size turbos.
Clever money is spent on a better intercooler.

Opening up the exhaust helped spool up and gave a little more power on the butt dyno (probably mostly from sound!)
But the FMIC gave more power everywhere and made the car's performance much more consistant. Heatsoak is not an issue anymore. Not to mention less lag, the stock SMIC is a joke.
Has kw is only the maximum power you get a one particular rpm point.
What you should look at is total torque curve.
A chip with say 5KW less, may actually have a lot more torque in all other rpm points and would be a quicker car to drive
