how can i find out what chip i have?

Does anyone know and easy way i can find out what chip i have in my car?
See the car had been chipped before i bought it and there arent any reciepts or anything for it so i just wanted to find out what brand chip upgrade it was.
Any help would be appreciated.

Short of asking the previous owner it may be difficult to determine. I had to repair a customers car that was purchased already chipped. The chip performed so poorly even the oem program was better. This was a piggy back chip whilst I don't know exactly where it came from I have my suspiscions. I only hope you have a chip from a reputable tuner.

Often the Chip Brand and version # is written on a sticker which is stuck to top of the primary ECU chip within the ECU case. So if you open the ECU cover, you'll be able to sneak a view of the primary ECU chip, and hopefully a sticker which is atatched.
