Hope yet for Canadian B7 RS4
I emailed Audi Canada (off their website at www.audicanada.ca) and pleaded for them to bring in the RS4, after I heard here it will not come to Canada (at least initially ... same way RS6 did not come to Canada until we got US leftovers).
Anyhow to my shock they called me (!) today and told me "no decision has been made, one way or the other". He even added that they hadn't definitively decided on US importation (although that sounds just plain wrong). So all you current Canadian S4 owners who would buy an RS4 ... or anyone else for that matter ... please email Audi Canada right now and tell them you'd buy one! There is still hope!!!

I think one of the problems is that your government is trying to distance itself from the US
and as such have different car regulations - thus making it expensive for car companies to bring in low volume cars - as they have to modify them from the ones being brought in for the low volume US market.
As excited as everyone is for the RS4 - it is still a low volume car - and is in the price range where it competes with Porsche in performance.
You should be calling your government Representative instead

It's more of the insurance companies from what I have heard
They wanted these tougher restrictions and now it's standard for any car coming to Canada.
BTW I thought the RS4 is coming to Canada, small allocation but there are people on the waiting list already.

Audi Canada is considering bringing the car, but it is 50/50 chance that they will.
If they decide to bring the car to Canada it will not be more then 250 cars most likely less then that.
reason: Under RIV/TRansportation laws any car under 250 cars per model (per cycle) can be imported by manufacture, into the country without any significant modifications required.
there is no insurance involvement in this matter at all sorry Tanner ..
However it is up to Manufacture if they want to bring the car into Canada, most likely they will look at number of the factors, expenses (prep the facilities and training techs/ marketing and the cost of the car .
My prediciton is that if the car is going to be sold in Canada it will cost not less then 100k and not more then 120k

The insurance discussion was not specifically about the RS4
But regarding to why the test requirements are tougher in Canada versus the US, which has historically prevented other cars coming to Canada like the B5 A4 Avant - tailgate must open properly in the event of a rear end collision at a particular speed, and add the no xenons for the B5 S4 as driving lights must be functional also from a front end collision at a particular speed....

I know about that, but it is first time I'm hearing from you *as always, smart *** clown* that insurance is involved , I am looking at the book that was given to me by RIV.. , and nothing is mention about insurance being involved until the end when they do their own score for the insurance purposes only.. maybe I shall print a copy for you so you can read with your own eyes and learn instead * i heard something*

It will be about 90K Canadian
Any higher than that for a 4 series would not fly. I believe the RS6 was 109,000 approx,
With taxes, winter wheels/tires and a nav system, it will be close to 110,000 can
