Default I would like some opinions....

I'm thinking of adding som alcantara to the car. I just love the stuff. So for 1) The steering wheel would be turned into all alcantara. Same color scheme as there is now. Grey and black. Or should I go with a new RS wheel, and put alcantara on it? 2) For the rest of the interior any grey part would be turned into grey alcantara (doors, and the middle part of the seats), and the black leather would stay. Also any ideas how much it'd cost? Also anyone know how much it would cost to get the roof lined in alcantara? How hard would it be to do the roof by myself? Heres a couple of pics of how the car is now. The pics aren't exactly the best.

Default eh...I dunno...

...one of the things that makes your car exclusive is the interior. If you mess with that, then basically you lose some of its inherent value. I think if you plan to keep the car "forever", sure, do what you want. But if you want to recoup as much as you can when you sell it, I think you should leave it stock. Or save the original materials and plan to convert it back before selling.

The other thing to consider is that you need to find someone who could do the front seats w/o screwing up the airbags.

I wouldn't even begin to think about doing the headliner myself. I tried to do it on an old VW Bug once and it was a ******* nightmare.

We can't get them here due to whacky Canadian regulations on "no flat bottomed sterring wheels"

Default Yeah

I'll be keeping this car for a while. But like you said, that's part of what sets this car apart from other S4's. I was thinking of just buying a whole new steering wheel and have them do the same color scheme, so If I wanted to I could throw the original back on. As for the seats, it'd just be the inside of the seat, i.e. not the bolsters where the airbags are at. Think that'll still be a problem? Thought the roof would be a bitch to do.... Hopefully if everything goes right I'll be able to get another S4 where I can have fun with it...

Default You're looking at over $400 a yard......... about 1.5 yards will do the doors........

4 yards is probably needed to do the roof liner.... it's not cost effective... but I'd love to see you try.

Default $400 a yard? I've seen 'em at about $200 a yard for decent

stuff, and as low as $50 for the imitation (which I'm not going to use). Where did you get yours for your doors?

Was a totally irrelevant 2000x1312 1.2 MB jpeg really necessary?
