Default 2008 Audi A4 and S4 with 5.5 V10>

Could it be true. The only way that could be better is if Jessica Alba drove it to my house.
"All-new range, to include S4 with 5.5-litre V10 as seen in S6 (440bhp); ultra-quick RS4 (550bhp) could follow. The stakes are upped in the horsepower wars..."<ul><li><a href="http://www.channel4.com/4car/future-models/2008.html">http://www.channel4.com/4car/future-models/2008.html</a</li></ul>

Default That website is a trip...what a bunch of crap....read the article

about the A5...ROFLMAO. They show a picture of an A6 and say "The pictures may show a four-door Audi A6, but underneath that familiar saloon body is an all-new platform and chassis, which will first be used for a two-door coupe"....you know, because it's so easy to just lift an A6 body off it's chassis and slap it onto another one.

Look at the pictures, that's a A6 alright. Most likely what you see in those pictures is testing being done to see how far they can push the limits of wheel spacing, probably for an upcoming RS model of the A6. (hence why the guy is driving the car up a curb). They do it with soft foam so that they can mark how far the suspension travels at it's extremes.

Default S4 with a 5.5L V10, I highly doubt it.....

The 5.5L V10 is also known as the Lamborghini Gallardo engine. Audi is working on an RS6 for 2008, but they are having problems fitting the engine under the hood of it's 6-series. That said, there is no way in hell an engine of that size will fit in a 4-series.<ul><li><a href="http://www.autospies.com/article/index.asp?articleId=2846">http://www.autospies.com/article/index.asp?articleId=2846</a</li></ul>

Default FYI...the gallardo V10 already exists under the hood of the S6 and S8.

The Gallardo V10 is in this car as well as the new S8. So there's no problem fitting it, as you can see.<ul><li><a href="http://www.fourtitude.com/news/publish/Audi_News/article_1911.shtml">New S6</a></li></ul>

Default Here are the "real" facts

The new RS 6 will have a 550 hp 5.5L FSI V10 with normal aspiration, 9,000-9,500 RPM redline and 420, 428 or 435 lbs/ft of torque. The Lamborghini Gallardo will get this same V10 with the same redine, output and everything else when the essentially similar R8 exotic sports car (whose top engine will be the 5.2L FSI V10 with normal aspiration, 7,200-7,500 RPM redline, 450 hp and 398 or 406 lbs/ft of torque) comes out. The B8 RS 4 and RS 5 will most likely have a 450 hp 4.5L FSI V8 with normal aspiration, 8,500-9,000 RPM redline and 339, 347 or 354 lbs/ft of torque. The B8 S4 and S5 will have a 350 hp 4.2L FSI V8 with normal aspiration, 7,200 RPM redline and 310, 317 or 325 lbs/ft of torque. The new S6 has a 420 hp (NOT 440 hp) 5.2L FSI V10 with normal aspiration, 7,200 RPM redline and 398 lbs/ft of torque.

Default 9,000-9,500 rpm redline? You sure about that? The Lambo V-10 now is good for only 8,000. Not that..

that isn't awesome but another 1000-1500 from the same engine in a year or so seems a little absurd.

Yeah, NS! But to fit it in the A4 package is something else entirely.

Default what you say does makes sense but...

i don't see how the gallardo would get 2 updates in two years. it just had a 20 hp boost. additionally, if a V10 R8 makes 450 hp what is the point of a 425 hp V8? if you are speculating then say so.
