Troll2, what do you think about...
this recent trend of Audi's towards anniverasry editions, 4 different sport pkgs(spt, s-line, S4, RS4) and now a new titanium package?
I had to laugh at the titanium package, which actually downgrades from brushed aluminum exterior trim to black rubber and also replaces wood or aluminum interior trim with piano black. Oh, did I forget the painted titanium look wheels, which look anything but?
Audi wants another $500 for this bogus package, telling us that it's a sporty upgrade.
My opinion is that this recent trend is a cheapening of their cars while trying to rake off a few more bucks from customers.
I think the most recent anniversay car I saw was a 25 year anniversay edition Dodge Caravan.
Is this what it's come to in order to try and get to BMW level of sales?
Personally, I hate to see it.

What about the price differences for premium package in the B6
platform vs. B7? Maybe I'm missing something but I noticed a markup from $2,000 to $2,900. What's the difference between the two?
Oh, and I agree with you on the bogus Titanium package other than the fact it will include the 25th anniversary multi-spoke rims that have *sort of* grown on me. I really don't like the BBS CH type rims on this car because I don't think it looks very aggressive. I'd prefer the original Avus 6-spoke rims personally.

Its all about making money. If Audi can get more money(profit) for some dolled up edition.
more power to them. There will always be someone who will be willing to shell out more money to get somthing that is more exclusive or different. It doesn't mean that you or I have to like it or buy it.

It is nice to have more options, but...
In this case Audi is saving costs by getting rid of the polished aluminum window trim, going from wood or brushed aluminum interior trim to basic piano black, and slapping on wheels that are merely finished in a titanium looking paint...and then charging $500 for this "option"?? I think that's a joke on the customer.

No, not that I'm aware of but I was just pointing that out anyway. I've been interested in those 25th anniversary rims and noticed it as part of the package on that A4. Would you be surprised if this Titanium Package was offered on the S4? I wouldn't.
