Default looking for more power

I just bought my first Audi (2005.5, 2.0T, 6spd manual, w/ Quattro)..and yes I absolutely love it. But I'm a typical guy, and about a month or so after having a new toy, I'm ready to tinker with it. Does anyone know if there is something I can do to increase the power without voiding my warranty? Thanks in advance - Mike

Default Probably the only thing that might help is cat back exhaust

should allow turbo to spool faster.

Anything else is iffy with the dealer - like chips or flashing.

Default I would check with your dealer before doing any type of performance mod

I would be honest and upfront with the dealer about this. Even the addition of an exhaust system may void your warranty. It all depends on the dealer...if they are not cool with it, they will find some way to void your warranty.

If you go ahead with it, a chip and exhaust is the best option right right. Check out APR, Neuspeed, AMS, etc for chips/flashes. GIAC should be out soon as well.

not too many systems out for the B7 yet...but typically you can expect a 8-15 hp increase with a full catback exhaust.

Milltek has one out already.

AWE and APR both have sytems coming out soon. AWE is a little over $900 and claims +9 hp. APR's is more expensive at $1300 I think, and claims 20+ hp w/exhaust tuned software.

Be sure to consider quality, fitment, sound, etc. when choosing a system, not just dyno numbers.

APR Engineering makes an ECU flash - I did it about two months in as well and I LOVE it... cost is 599 plus install (they go through your diag port) The other option is to physically remove your ECU and send it to APR. I opted to have an authorized dealer do mine. Go to http://goapr.com/Audi/products/ecu_upgrade_b7a4.html

Unless a mod can be PROVEN to have caused whatever failure and/or problem you bring the car in for warranty, you won't have a problem. Also as an option they can add a stock program so that you can toggle between the two. If you bring it in for warranty obviously you run the stock program.

Good Luck!!!

this actually sounds like a good option for me. getting about 40 hp and torque for probably under a grand...compared to doing the catback which would get me 10 hp for probably a grand. thanks a lot pete. im gonna def. look into it more. are you able to tell a big dif. compared to when yours was stock?

Default No dealer is going to be "cool" when....

there is a warranty issue. That's why you want the stock program installed as well as the option to go to your APR dealer for a complete re-flash back to stock if you would like. I'm not familiar with the catback setup, but I know it doesn't take your torque to 292 !

Default re: correct me if im wrong....

but, from what im understanding, i could get it up to 240 HP and 292 lb ft torque, and then be able to switch it back to stock for when it goes to the dealership and they will be none the wiser that i had this mod installed?
