Default My only complaint for the car...

Other than the armrest But I got used to that in my B5. And I got used to not having an armrest in my TT, so it is always in the up position anyway.

Has anyone noticed that going from 2nd great to 3rd gear is physically a bit weird? Not sure how to explain it, but instead of going from 2nd to 3rd, I first hit that "block" between 1st and 3rd gear, and then have to move it over to the right to go into 3rd. Shifting was much easier in the TT. Will a short shifter remedy this? Thanks.

I don't remember shifting from 2nd to 3rd being weird, but i do remember it being a long throw and not very smooth. A short shifter will fix this. The throw is much shorter and precise than with the stock shifter...not weird at all from 2nd to 3rd.

Default I agree, it seems to be just a bit farther right than it should be..

so I miss the 2-3 shift every now and again. I didn't have this problem with my B6, or any VW/Audi product before that. Over on Fourtitude, the first review for the B7 from the US press intro mentions this same problem, so it does seem to be common. Like the poster above, I think a short shifter kit might help...

Default Did that a few times on the track

First to second is fine, then second to uh, whoops, can't get into third, somehow I'm trying to jam the shifter between first and third.

Default Exactly! Good to know I'm not alone on this! Anyone have recommendations on a short shifter?...

As well as a good online merchant? Thanks.

Default Suggestion that seems to work for me....

Its hard to explain but when you shift into Third place your palm on the Shifter and just push with your palm and you will see how the shifter will always just glide into 3rd gear... I have a shortshifter i need to install i will see if that does any difference.

Correction dont place your palm on top but place it behind the shifter cause if you put it on top of the shifter you will just push down.

Default Right on the money Fernando, I use the same technique!

If you hold the stick from the top while you shift from 2-3 you will notice notchiness (not smooth) when you shift. If you push it from the back of the stick (horizontal C grip) it will shift smoothly, it takes time.

Agreed, I distinctly remember this from my test drive back in May.

Default I shift that way also and had a few times where I'm trying to jam it between 1st and 3rd

THat is, holding it from behind instead of top down.
