Default Any reason I should wait for other chip companies?

Thinking about doing APR since it is "undetectable" and I can revert back to stock. Are there any other companies that I should wait for or consider that has the same features similar to APR: undetectable and being able to revert back to stock.

Default "undetectable" is somewhat misleading. If a dealer looked for it via...

their diagnostics software, they'd find it pretty easily. Other companies do offer similar setups. I'm waiting for GIAC and REVO to see what their numbers are like before I spend a dime but hearing people talk about the performance after chipping makes me want to run out and do it right away.

Default The flash is NOT undetectable....

The only thing that makes an ECU flash undetectable is the physical appearence. You still physically have a stock chip. It is easy for a tech to find out your program is not stock. When you "revert back to the stock program", you are actually reverting back to the chip companies equivalent of the stock program. An Audi tech will still notice the flash.

They will not notice it doing an oil change. BUT... if you have a major engine problem, you better believe they are going to check for an ECU flash.

Default These are things that we at APR

go the extra mile to take care of. We offer security lock out that will keep the dealer from trying to change programs. We also use the exact stock programming ulike other companies do. It is Audi factory programming. Finally we make sure that the flash count is exactly the same as when the car came from the factory. APR does not suggest you hide from your dealer but we also make sure that your choice to modify is yours alone unless you want to tell others.

Default I would have to disagree with the concept

that a dealer would find it easliy with our patened DPP and EMCS setup. See my post above.....

Default I want to go with APR because it is undetectable but...

the closest dealer to me is somewhere around 70 miles from me, each way. Is there any way I can send out the ecu to you guys without them detecting? I'm pretty sure the stock ecu is pretty much welded in correct?

Default Bottom line: DO not chip it if you cannot afford to fix it

All chips are detectable

Default Re: Just drive the damn 70 miles.

It's not that easy to do when I work and go to class 6 days of the week, but i'm going to try and find time soon to get out there.

Thing is the closest Revo dealer to me is about 7 miles away, so I may just wait it out and see what they come up with.

it would be in your best interest to have the car flashed through the obd2 port. we can do it here if you send your ecu but you have to break the chastity belt to remove the ecu. we have some bolts that allow you to install them in place of the damaged ones but you have to be very careful.
