Default Considering a B7 3.2 cab ...

anyone on the board have one? I'm likely giving my kid my A4 for grad school, and will be looking to lease a cab in the spring. I'd order a well-optioned car with 6MT, sport seats, etc. Will dealers make significant deals on these cars? What is a reasonable % or $$ over invoice? I'd really appreciate your experience!

If there are leftover or very nearly new B6 convertibles, I'd consider that as well as a <5K mile S4 cab.
Thanks - Phil G.

'04 A4 2.8Q, tip, silver/black 29K miles
'04 Porsche C4S Coupe, 6MT, Atlas/Black, 1900 (no misprint) miles
'07 328xi sedan, steptronic, sport, premium, etc. Graphite/Tan, 500 miles
'04 A6 Avant - off lease for the BMW
'05 S4 Sedan, 6MT, Northern Blue/Silver - sold for the P-car

The only cab available with a 6MT is the S4 cab, unfortunately

Default I opted for a BMW 330Cic because of this issue.

With gas at $3/gallon, an S4 Cab was out of the question. Also, such a big engine ahead of the front axle throws off the weight distribution. I'll be honest though, I do miss Quattro, if only to take the car skiing in the winter. Around town, the stability control keeps you from spinning the wheels if you engage the clutch too abruptly, even without Quattro.

My 2006 BMW 330 Cic, 6 spd manual, sport pkg, xenons, ipod

Default Other option is to wait for the 335xi coupe due out late '07

yeah, it's not a cab, but they are sweet. I've had Audis forever - my wife just got a 328xi sedan which she really likes. A little gimmicky for my taste, but BMW makes good cars. I would love to stay with Audi though.

Default I just got a 07 Cab.

Manual tranny is not available. I am just giving up my 04 Saab 9.3 vert. I did the Saab instead of the A4 last time because I wanted a manual tranny. Living in Los Angeles I am facing the fact that the manual is no longer an option, even though I have a 5 mile commute. I am surprised how much I ike the paddle shifters that come with the tiptronic. I went with the 2.0 which I plan to chip to save weight. I am surprised at how front heavy the car feels. Seems to have a fair amount of understeer, even with the sport suspension. The 07 A4 cab drives much different than the B5 and B6 sedans I had before. I only have 250 miles on the new car so it is hard to tell. A BMW is way more expensive. My car had a sticker of 46k and the lease was based a price of 42K which seems good to me. The lease rate was quite favorable. I got my car on Dec. 30. the dealer told me they would not give me the same deal in Jan. $1800 cash total down, 15k per year miles 36 months, $560 inc tax/ month. Silver/black Quattro, S line

Default Very nice car ....

but not for me. I really want a manual shift, not a tip. Your lease price sounds very competitive. If I go with an Audi cab, it will likely be an S4, but I'm heading towards the 335 BMW - which actually is competitively priced with the A4 3.2 and lots faster. I'll be in the market in Spring '07.
