Quick question about front license plates & drilling new car bumpers.
I just got word that my '07 A4 is on a truck headed to the dealership. This is the 3rd A4 that I purchased from the same salesman - who tragically passed away on Friday. :-(
Jack (RIP) went out of his way to make sure that the front bumpers on my b5 and b6 would not be drilled for front plates prior to delivery. He told me when I ordered the car in October, that I would have to sign a waiver sometime before the car arrived, stating that I did not want the front bumper drilled for plates. I called the dealership minutes ago and was told by someone else that the B7 bumper doesn't need to be drilled to mount the front license plate and that the front plate holder can be replaced with a filler panel and leave no trace that a plate was ever mounted.
Is this correct?

Dealer was correct. No drilling necessary
I ordered my S-Line with a filler plate, but have since received "no front plate" tickets. I now have the bracket. It is easy to put on and take off. The dealer will need your VIN number to order the correct part (although, even with my VIN number, my dealer ordered the wrong part).
