Default Lease is up in 7 months...not sure what my next car will be....

My wife started driving the A4 recently and we share the car(she drives it to work...and on my days off I take the car and drive her to work as I take the train to my job) if we have one car the next car will have to be automatic which I'm not very happy about as I wanted to get an S-line 2.0T with a manual trans...so we'll probably end up getting a car that my wife like like an x3 or a v6 touraeg. Can anyone reccomend a car that we can both enjoy? When will the b8 A4 come out anyone know?

Requirements
-AWD
-Decent power (at least as fast as a flashed tipronic 2.0T)
-Decent fuel economy
-Fun to drive...

another option is to get her a car that she likes x3, v6 Touareg, v6 Q7 and get the A4 S-line for myself...but dont know if thats a wise idea to spend all that $$$ on 2 cars....

Default Mine's up in 9 months. Leaning toward an X3 or 335i 6-speed manual ...

The X3 has fantastic lease residuals from BMW FS (77% on 24 mo/12K per year) whcih results in excellent lease payments. The only reason I am interested in it, however, is that it can be had with a 6-speed manual. I refuse to get anything automatic. My second choice is a 335i, much quicker and a better choice but it will cost more. I would consider an A4 3.2 quattro S-line 6MT but the lease residuals and MF suck on that car compared to a 335i (8% lower on a 36 month lease). I will simply not pay more for the slower A4 because Audi doesn't have as good a resale value.

Default If you want an SUV, the Touareg is the way to go. Otherwise either a bmw 328xi or 335xi

the 335xi will be out by the time u need a new car

Default Nothing yet but I've been lurking on BimmerFest.com X3 forum ...

I've seen numbers below $450/mo (tax included) for a 24-mo lease with 12 or 15K miles per year on nicely loaded models (MSRP $43-45K) with minimal drive-off.

If I get a Bimmer, I will do a European Delivery and that should make the deal even sweeter. My brother knows a good salesman at Nick Alexander BMW (downtown LA) who has told him I can get an X3 or 335i for a total of 8.5-9% off MSRP. The residual value of a 24 mo lease at 12K per year is 77%. The base money factor was 0.0015 in December but has gone up to 0.0020 in January. Most people leasing off dealer lot are getting their car for about $500-1000 over invoice.

Default MF is usually higher on the 3 series though

at least that's what I experienced when I was looking at the 330 before I pulled the trigger on the 2.0T
