my brakes suddenly started squeeking at 7,000 miles. can anyone explain why??

From my experience, don't tell the dealer they are squeaking, tell them they are griding
or some other noise. I know a mechanic who said that squeaking brakes are 'normal' for cars, 'grinding' is not (or choose another type of sound other than 'grinding').
If they are going to do any investigation or work on the car, a customer comment reported as 'grinding' provides more ground for the dealer to charge AoA for warranty repair than for 'squeaking'.

Try bedding the brakes to remove the layer of pad material that could be causing the squeaking.

Just a thought, my girlfriends' G35 had a squeak around 9K. I checked it out and there was rust build up/clog on the pads (not too bad since braking usually rubs off most of it but still enough to squeak). I just sanded it down a little and the sound went away.
