Default Tire condition/tread at lease return

I still have a few months to go on my lease, but I have a question for those who have leased from AoA before. What condition do the tires have to be in tread-wise when you turn the car in? I only have 13K miles on the car now and the S-line 18" performance tires are holding up well at this point. However, if I need to put a new set of tires on the car anyway, I'd rather do it sooner rather than wait until the week the car goes back to Audi with about 20K miles on the odometer.

It's doubtful that I will lease another Audi next, in case that's a consideration.

It needs to meet a certain minimum tread depth, can't remember if it's a minimum of 4/32"

Default how much were you charged? cost of a new tire or diff btw 3/32 and 4/32?

what I don't get is, when the car is sold off, auctioned off, etc, it will get 4 new tires anyway, so it should not matter as long as the steel belts are not showing, right?

Default It's very unlikely that a car will get new tires prior to being sold

If they CPO it and sell it on the lot then they'll replace the tires if they have insufficient tread. (They are supposed to, anyway)

If they do not CPO it, but choose to sell it on their used lot Non-CPO, they may change the tires if they're worn excessively. Then again, they may not.

If they wholesale it, then no way.

Default Does the min. thread depth depend on the duration of the lease/mileage terms?...

You figure, the longer the lease and more the mileage, the more the tire wear!!!...

Default I doubt it. You need to return a serviceable car regardless of term.

That means the tires need to be serviceable too.

I can't say for sure what that means for remaining treadlife other than that for safety inspections, the generally accepted minimum tread depth for a serviceable tire is 4/32". At 2/32" it's legally unserviceable in most States.
