CEL came on tonight...
So I was driving down a small neighborhood road, going about 25 mph, and my check engine light came on. I hadn't been pushing the car hard all day long and the car had plenty of time to warm up (its in the 20's here in PA). I pulled over, let the car idle for a minute, then shut her off. After about 5 minutes of sitting there, I restarted it hoping the light would go away, but to no avail.
The car still drove the same, didn't hear any noises. And yes, the gas cap was closed.
So basically I'm just frustrated because I have no idea why the CEL came on. I'm gonna call the dealer tomorrow and try to take it in. I'm still in the warranty period, so I'm not too worried about it - I just hope its not something that keeps my car in the shop for too long.

Could be anything and related to emissions if the car/engine felt fine
I had a CEL that came on in the middle of traffic. No change in performance from what I could tell.
Got the codes pulled and it was some manifold valve stuck in the open position, and after a while searching for what this did, it basically closed partially at low RPMs to aid in better fuel economy and wide open at higher RPMs. So since it wasn't critical I just scheduled an appointment with them to get it replaced under warranty.
Dealer will need to hook up their VAGCOM to read the codes then go from there.
