Default using sport springs (Eibach lowering up to 2") on the standard shocks ?

B7 2.0T FWD need suspension upgrade. It is too soft for the way i drive. Any thoughts whether the combination above would work or will i have to go with the new shocks.

Default I've had a set of Eibachs in my car for 6 months now and never regretted it for a second.

The ride with the standard shock is still very comfortable, but handling has definitely improved. Although I'd imagine that using the shorter, Audi Sports spring or Koni's etc, would yield a much stiffer ride with further improvements in handling, I'm still very happy with the way it is for now.

This is a before pic.

This one as taken a couple of days after, the springs have settled even further since.

Default STFA. This will shorten the life of the shocks and result in a less composed ride.

The shocks won't be valved for the new spring rates and consequently you are going to have a lesser ride quality. If you are paying to have the suspension taken apart anyway, go the extra step and do a full kit.

Default Thanks bro. It looks very good. that's perfect height

It looks sporty but not over done like some i've seen. i just visited CPT shop in Chicago they recommened Bilstein shocks though because of the stain it puts on the standard shocks.

Default OK...

Eibach should work. I know that Vogtland springs work fine with OEM shocks.

Most companies know that people will install their springs with OEM shocks and therefore they do not make them much stiffer.

Basically responsible spring makers make sure that they work well. So if springs are your idea of fun - I highly recommend Vogtlands. But Eibach or H&R or Neuspeed shoould work too.

Now, if you want to properly tune your suspension, coilovers are the only way to go.

Our GT kits start at just over $1,000 and will provide you with a lifetime of fun. You will be able to to adjust the ride height perfectly to your liking. Some springs will drop your car too much, some too little. Also with coilovers, you will get stiffer springs that will truly eliminate body roll and understeer. This is not possible with spring kits as these are designed for OEM shocks.

If you just get springs, you will want coilovers later and will end up paying for both. Just do it the right way around from the start.

Follow me...
