B8 Platform

Has anyone heard if Audi will make the switch in 2008 or 2009? I just talked to my salesman and he doesn't believe the B8 will be out until 2009. He hasn't heard anything official from Audi, but believes he would have if it would be out in 2008. The reason I show concern is I am faced with buying my 2006 A4 versus waiting to lease a B8 if it will be available next year.

As to when it'll hit the showroom on this side of the world, it's anybody's guess.

2009 YM in US. It could come here as early as spring 2008 though.

A5 (coupe based on B8) will debut soon. On sale soon after in Europe. Here by year end.

Sedan follows later. Not sure exactly when, but we most likely won't see it under the '08 model year. As others mention, AoA may introduce it fairly early in '08 and call it an '09.

I have a hunch that the new C-Class will prompt Audi into an earlier North America launch rather than later.

MB's redesign of the S-Class has been a smash hit for them, and from the initial comments on the new C-Class, they'll have a big win on their hands with that as well.

Audi may have its hand forced into an earlier than expected launch.
