Test Pipe.....worth the risk or not
It makes it illegal to register to drive on public roads.
The MM Act wouldn't apply.
Now, add to that fact that in order to install and run an illegal TP and not have a MIL, you must be running aftermarket software for the ECU.
Will every dealer make instant note of it on the spot? No. (But they probably should)
They are going to want your business, but they are not going to run a foul of AoA or the DPS to keep it.
If you have a TP and have engine/exhaust/ anything that could even be remotely related to those then you're going to be denied warranty service (at the very least).
That's just the way it is.
TPs are illegal. If you want to run one, then that's on you.
Mod away, but be informed and mod smart.
If the extra performance gained from a TP is worth breaking the law to you, then go ahead.
But, if you do, you assume the possible financial and legal liabilities associated with that risk.
Oh yeah, and don't forget... your insurance company and finance company might not be very happy with you either.
