springs question?
i have the b7 avant with stock suspension .. I am about to step to the rs4 reps wheels (19's), but want to drop her a bit as well .. dig the luxury feel but hate the gap . can you guys recommend a good spring that will fit with the stock shocks ? dropping me an inch, stiffening the ride slightly, without compromising the luxury feel? h&r ? eibach? your feedback is very much appreciated.

i am indeed paying the labor .. having the springs put on with the 19's i am ordering .
shocks suggestion? again, i am a novice here .. looking for a more aggressive look, but very much need the luxury feel .

Go with a less aggressive drop of spring and you can use...
the most popular aftermarket dampers like the Koni sport or the bilstein sport dampers. Koni is a bit smoother. Go with an eibach or HR for a less aggressive drop. If you go Neuspeed or a "race" spring it will drop the car to the point the aftermarket dampers just dont keep up well with that much of a drop and you can get a lot of bounce and pogo. Keep in mind for the price of good dampers and springs ($750) you can spend a bit more and get some entry level coilovers that utilize matched components (about $950).

Here's one of our customers on H&R Springs on a '06 A4 Sedan.
We'd recommend matching these with some KONI shocks for daily driving. They're a touch more comfortable than the Bilsteins and really help keep the A4 with a nice comfortable ride. They're still a huge improvement in performance over stock, and will stiffen the ride without making it harsh at all.

thanks, mike . dampers = shocks?? again, i am pretty novice when it comes to mods ..
i want the best value (not necessarilly cheap) to get my car to rest lower on the 19's, while not compromising the ride quality .. my buddy told me that a good, mellow spring would work fine with the stock shocks .. is this untrue?
