Help! 2006 A4 Brakes Squeal: Should I replace with Audi OEM or Hawk Ceramic Brake Pads?
We have owned our 2006 A4 for 5 mos and the brakes have been squealing throughout. The dealer replaced the brake pads on the right front brake and it got better temporarily and it is now squealing all the time. Should I insist they replace all the brake pads, or should I just forget Audi brakes altogether and go to something like the Hawk Ceramic brake pads? The Hawks sound great but when I searched this site, I found several posts that said Hawk Ceramics squeal too. I have never had a car with this problem before. I assume it is a design issue? its funny you mentioned this i was going to post about my brakes squealing but only when it is very
cold. is this normal or has anyone else experienced it? once the car is warm its fine. i have 15K on the car but I didn't expect the breaks to go this quickly

man i have the same problem ive had my care for about five month and have 6000 miles and when its cold they squeal but go away when it warms up did anyone find a fix

I seem to get the squeal on when it's cold outside, and only before the brakes warms up.
After a few minutes of driving in the cold the squeal seems to go away.
Or maybe I'm just not paying attention to the squeal.
