Default A5 owners, how is the power after 4000rpm, I test drove it and loved it but didn't floor it,thanks

Hello everyone,
I've been a member of this forum since the Jet days (very few probably remember them) I have had the Allroad 2.7t & an 05 A6 4.2, currently am leasing a 335i to give you an idea of where I am coming from and my 335 lease ends in a few months.
I test drove the A5 and love it, this car is so comfortable & so beautiful, I loved it !!!
But and here it is, on my test drive I did not floor it, I should have but the car had 100 miles on it and I just couldn't do that to the future owner ...
I kept the tiptronic in sport mode and the power felt really good but how is this car after 4000 rpm ... does it keep going ... does it feel as good as the first 4000 rpm or does it die off ...
I love a car that pulls nicely and heck I have a Vette for those times of crazy power .. please tell me A5 owners ... for the sporty driver does the power keep going ...

Unfortunately leasing is no longer an option with these crazy residual's ... so this car will be bought ... thanks for your advice !!!

Default I am breaking mine in but at like 840 miles, so I have brought it up to about 5000 and the....

power is still there. Not sure up to 7000 though and I have not given past 1/3 - 3/4 throttle either. But power has been there. Others will be able to give you more info though.

It's not a Vette, but the power is adequate. No complaints here!

Default Placed my order today

My lease is up this May on my Lexus IS350 with 306 hp. Just put deposit on an A5 today. I know I'm giving up some power but I think the car design is fantastic and I too will buy now.

Default Power is good.

I love driving my A5. Is it an S5 or a Corvette? No. Is it quicker than most other cars on the road? Yes, by a long shot. Remember, R&T got an A5 to 60 in 5.5 seconds. Not a lot of cars will do that. I find the power to be more than adequate, particularly if you give it a good launch. I think you'll like it. It does drop off some in the higher RPMs, but as the car has broken in I've found it to be a lot of fun to drive.

Buy the 6 speed with drive select and S line

You will love it, and great comments about your car will follow.

I have the six speed manual transmission. With just over 1,500 miles, I'm reluctant to approach the redline. However, the engine freely revs to 5,000 rpm with a straight line power curve. Incidentally, Audi has placed 5,000 rpm at the 12 o'clock position on the tachometer (implied optimum shift point). Very smooth engine with progressive power.
