i like it, but mercedes engines although becoming fuel efficient, just lack the power. The v6 only has 260ish hp and i dont believe these coupes will be offered with all wheel drive. I dont think they will serve as competition for the s5 but who knows!

IMO, the peak of design for Mercedes was a few years back when they introduced the new SL body style...
Now they seem to be just refining that design and making it uglier year over year...

as for the new E class coupe, the back looks like a lexus and the body has too much going on. No thanks.

i didnt like the initial press release photos, but the newer ones actually make it look pretty good
what do you mean lack power, the v6 is rated pretty similarly to the audi's? the quality issues are for the most part gone, and realistically it was only a couple year stretch where it was an issue. anyways im interested to see how it looks in person, the seats look pretty sweet.

Too many styling flaws here...
Square lights, round lights, rectangular lights, fender flares, creases, cuts, sags, extra window pilars, lack of doors where there looks like there could be doors = awkard. A coupe should look like a coupe and this one looks like two more doors would fit right on. The dash and console are just as bad as the new C. It's a mish mosh of squares and angles. Nothing looks modern and nothing flows. I don't think Audi has much to worry about here.

Strange looking car. Overly rounded on the exterior, square styling on the interior
Very odd combination of shapes throughout the car. From the front stance, it looks moderately squarish in appearance. From the side, you see the same nose characteristic try and blend with a rounded tail & roofline.
Not a fan.

Don't like it. In profile, the lines sweep upward far to much; makes my...
...brain think of a classic 90 degree triangle, laying on its side, going down the street. This definitely is NOT a design that anyone would call "beautiful." Rear wheels and wheelwell look too small for the car's design, as a result the fender flare looks like an afterthought--something to break up what would have been a boring flat panel. The lights are strange, especially the presumed driving lights/fog lights, and make the car look overly angry. Not sure of the theme.
On a positive note, I love the seats, front and back, and while I have never liked the Mercedes dash, especially that 10-digit keypad--the one that is always there in every car and that no one ever uses--I have always loved the fact that the seat adjustment controls are on the door and are laid out in a logical, intuitive fashion, even the headrest can be raised and lowered there. Good thinking on that. So there is something positive.
But it is a Mercedes and in the US it will sell, because that is all that matters, if you have the $$$.
