AudiWorld Road Test: A5 / S5 Cabriolet
Then we come to this article.
Though I didn't see any hard numbers weight wise, its safe to assume the Cab is heavier but not by that much, considering the weight savings in the engine and it should not suffer in the performance area either, as it is equipped with the Stronic box, which will move it along at a quicker pace then the 6MT variant. Further, less weight over the front axel and a lower center of gravity then the coupe...
But what do we get in this article? We get two sentences on the engine saying its slower then the 4.2 Coupe..but but but....doesn't feel it? What? Did they drive they car? Where are the hard numbers? Where are the photos aside from stock?
Why for is it this engine is SO LAWDED by the automotive press in the Sedan platform and then once in the S5 it suffers to the V8 in acceleration testing? (A test that the same engine S4 is supposedly beating a 335i in? ((And the S5 has never done 4.9 to 60 like a 335i Coupe has IIRC)))
So based on that its 1. B8 S4. 2. 335i. 3. S5 V8 4. S5 Cab V6?
Huh?
...and the V6 S4 isnt with out fault either....go check out the guy at the top of the page in that forum that just had a US spec car for two weeks....not even a wiff of a mention about the engine....huh?
Inside I always had a preference for the 8 over the 6 n a GT car (as that article points out it is again and again and again)....this just sorta supports it further.....hmmm.
