Kind of OT - Good Tax Preparer in Denver area
I usually file my own taxes but last year was a little messy for us and I think I should run by a cpa, just in case. Anyone have recommendations for the Denver area?
Also. I'm not sure if I'm doing this right but the economic stimulus we got last year is going straight back as income tax. Does that mean we are in a high bracket? According to efile, its about $1000 difference in my refund with the stimulus...

No, it is not going back as income tax, and should not impact your tax bracket. You just need to report it because some people did not get it, or did not get as much as they should have.
Basically, if you lie about what you received, it's instant audit as I understand.

Ok, thats what I thought. But it seems to affect the amount of my refund. I'm just playing around with the software but there is a big difference on refund total when I have that stimulus set to 600 vs 1200. I'm of course going to file it as we received it, but I'm wondering if this is expected. I thought the stimulus was not supposed to affect our refunds???
