Whurring sound on start up.
I have developed a whurring sound when I start my car. Only lasts a second. I have been told it's the bendix gear on the starter motor and nothing can be done about it. True or false??

But it's probably your secondary air injection pump. There was a post about it in the FAQ, IIRC. Before it got slaughtered by this awful forum format.
