Default APR problem!

I have APR installed my TT. I didn't think I was getting what I should as far as horse power. I was right, had car 225 TT inspected today where I had it installed. It seems the program is installed properly. Stock, 91 and 93. They report that I may need a new MAF, I say may they can't be sure. There is no noticeable difference between the three programs and it has been like that since it was installed. Before I install a new sensor have any you guys had this problem or can comment??? The report I have indicates boost levels normal for all programs. Intake system pressure tested, no leaks. MAF readings @ max 185 - 189g/s, therefofre MAF failure.

Pretty sure that with the APR program you can unplug the MAF for testing. The ECU just uses the programmed curves with no correction from the MAF. Generally if you are getting the higher boost levels then the program is fine. MAF failure is pretty regular especially if you have an aftermarket intake.

Most just slowly fade away and the engine starts to run like crap. The only two ways to know are to try the car without the MAF or to log some time with a VAG and check the correction values.

The car is running excellent, no hesitation, nothing to complain about except the APR flash did nothing. No extra power at all. I have both H2Sport and APR looking into it, hopefully they can find the problem.

Is it possible you are just/still in stock mode? Have you tried switching?

Exactly the same thing happened to me. Bad MAF. Unpluging the bad one didn't help. 200 miles after the reflash, CEL came on.

Steve S. had told me he thought it might be a bad MAF so I purchased a new one. Installed it and about 15 mkiles later - zoom.

All fixed.

Check your settings to be sure you are not in stock mode.

Good luck.

Same here. It was back in 2004, but as I remember. I lost boost after about 200 miles also. Limp mode. Every so often the boost would come back for a few miles then it would drop into limp mode again. New MAF fixed it right up. No further issues for the past 60,000 miles.
