New 2003 A6 3.0 owner, few questions
1. I just recently got a letter from Audi, stating there's a recall for the fuel tank nipple, Im guessing mine is on the list so ill be taking it to the dealership soon, my question is that will they offer me a loaner, it seems like a lengthy job.
2. I have also read that the Audi Symphony system has the capability of using the Bose Equalizer but it has to be in Bose mode. How Do i confirm that my stereo is in Bose mode without taking it out.
3. I want to add ipod capability to the stereo and i know DICE offers a solution but the disadvantage is that I loose the CD player, is there an alternative where I dont loose the CD changer and have the Ipod wired at the same time? - Also trying to stay away from FM transmitters
4. I too get shaky RPMs sometimes, im guessing its the coilpack replacement?
Have you pulled codes from the engine? That is step one for any diagnosis.
My car has the Bose Speakers and when I turn on the system, it reads BOSE before going to the CD/Radio info. So bose it is i guess
. one thing I found odd was that theres a speaker in the trunk on the Right when i remove the panel, kinda odd?And why do you reckon I shouldnt do the recall?
The radio saying "Bose" means that the radio is coded in Bose mode. The car may or may not have the Bose package.
I worked for VW/Audi for years and I've done lots of recalls. My advice is based on my overall experience and not on anything in this particular recall:
Generally, recalls address problems that are likely to occur. IMHO, may recall solutions are less than adequate and serve only to placate the highway safety people, not actually fix the problem. Doing the recall does not mean the problem will not occur. It there is no problem now, leave it alone; if you have a problem later, Audi will fix under the recall. If they do the recall now and there is an issue later, it's your dime.
