Default Cluster Failure Class Action Suit

I'm still battling Audi of America on the repair of a faulty instrument cluster from the class action suit that was filed against them a while back. Between the local dealership and AOA, they have handled everything very poorly.

I submitted the claim to the settlement administrator back before the cutoff date and was sent a letter back confirming that my vehicle was included in the class and that I had been authorized for the repair. Long story short, Audi customer service is asking for the original letter that was mailed back confirming that I had been approved for the repair.

My question is this....

Does anyone out there still have a copy of this letter? I'm pretty good with keeping documents but am having trouble locating it. If I could see what it looked like, it might help. This was months ago, so i'm having a difficult time remembering....

they just want a copy of the letter.

THANKS GUYS!

Dude so let me in on this. Fuzzy display, burned display etc. Lack of appropriate back plain to not burn screen lack of current limit. Let me get in and rip audi up. Pisses me off. Then in certain temps doesn't act right. Pissed that I have to have an influence the screen by not having my interior lights all the way up.

Germans suck at electrical engineering and trust me for this Audi knows its a design issue. There is no if and or buts. Its an engineering defect. Play your cards as a safety as if. It could affect the driver by not knowing for warning codes with emissions, or lack of info when the engine kills or overheats

Default cluster -uk

That would have been your own personal letter with your own personal NUMBER giving you authorization. Audi has it now they are hoping you lost it. They sent my letter to respond July 3rd 08' and I had to have it post marked by June 30th 08' talk about being screwed! Personally I have owned 2 VW's 2 Audi TT's and because they gave me wrong info on an old recall (VW heater seat) they would not pay $45.00 My family was preparing to go buy 3 Audi's totaling $135,000.00 now they get NOTHING. Plus all the Doc's I know I have had it with that Company

I have the orginal settlement claim form instuctions minus what I sent in do you want that?

U want brainless ownership? get a boring ole Lexus. U don't get loaner cars or affordable service, but it is less problematic. no european car is more reliable. to jump to another brand will result in more issues for sure. am i happy with the cluster? no way in hell......but it did get changed no problem, no letter needed. they cover it based on 6 years of original purchase date. i'm surprised you are having any issues at all with getting it handled unless you're outside 6 years. this car has been an easy ownership for me w/ annoying things here and there but WELL worth it for the driving experience can character the car exhibits. i'd much rather flip the bill myself for clusters every 2 years than live life behind the wheels of ANY Lexus made!

I even had my 2000 cluster replaced last year under that warranty. I just had to show that it was a problem within the 6 year timeframe. The previous owner had a notation on one of the documents stating tthat the cluster was missing pixels and they should take it to the AUdi dealer for diagnostics (which they never did.)

you don't (usually) get loaners at Audi (although some dealers do it, it is not required).

The deal at Lexus is the level of kiss ***. Lexus service people are all over you like a cheap suit, VERY professional, prompt, etc. The way service should be

At the Boston Audi dealers, you barely get a hello. Then they fix the car wrong, need anothre appointment to fix what they broke, have to wait for parts to come in, only to find out they ordered the wrong part. Then, unrelated to my rant, (as posted in another thread) they have the b@lls to charge $42 for a theromstat!!

If you want an exciting (not in a good way) have your car serviced at Audi (or at least in the Boston locations). I have had better experience at independent audi service than at the dealers.

We got the cluster letter and a refund pretty quick. Went pretty smooth. No issue.

But I agree, after owning a Lexus, it was a boring but well built car. The TT is 180 degrees from that. Less than enthused with the build quality and service, but is fun to drive (when it isn't being fixed).

Heck our TT makes my MGs look reliable!
